Yet another image gallery script. This one however, was written at the request of a friend who is now using it on his site. It is a very simple script and I hope you find it useful. When I was writing this script I was sitting at home happily typing away on my beloved intel iMac, the script worked as it should and everything was right with the world. My friend has an iMac G5 and the gallery worked fine for him. However, at work I am still using PowerPC G4 :-( and this script works very slow, so slow infact that I cannot enjoy the “cross dissolve” effect that I implemented. Even worse however is the fact that you can not view images at all, which as you can imagine kind of defeats the purpose of having the gallery in the first place. The same speed problem happens with some of my old scripts as well. They run too fast on my home computer but just right on older machines. I am thinking about writing a small script that will actually figure out speed of the end computer and adjust timeout calls as required. Stay tuned!

On the general topic of these kind of presentations, I stillmiantain some sites on which I placed java applets that came from http://www.ericharshbarger.com/java/.
I’m sure you could achieve these effects. Are you familiar with them?
